Look for the Proudly Wisconsin Badge when shopping for cheese. Any brand of Wisconsin Aged Cheddar or Queso Quesadilla can be used in this recipe.


  1. Grease grill grate. Heat grill to medium.
  2. Combine the black beans, cumin and chipotle chili pepper in a large bowl. Crumble beef and chorizo over mixture; mix just until combined. Form into six patties, about 1/3 pound each. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat for 5-8 minutes on each side or until a thermometer inserted into patties reads 160°F. Top with cheddar and queso quesadilla. Cover and cook for 1-3 minutes longer or until cheeses are melted.
  4. Spread refried beans and guacamole on bun bottoms; top with burgers and pico de gallo. Replace bun tops.
