Henning Cheese is a family operation crafting traditional artisan and specialty cheese in rural Kiel, Wisconsin, since 1914. Their focus is on quality not quantity. They use fresh milk from small local family dairy farmers and follow slow traditional make procedures. They craft traditional Cheddar, Colby, Monterey Jack, Farmers, Mozza Whips, fresh Cheddar Cheese Curds and a wide variety of unique Cheddar flavors. Some of these include Mango Fire Cheddar, Blueberry Cobbler Cheddar, Peppercorn Cheddar, Pico de Queso Cheddar and Dragon’s Breath Cheddar. They also have a line of seasonal flavors which includes their very popular, Hatch Chile Cheddar. Under the watchful eye of Master Cheesemaker Kerry Henning and 4th generation family cheesemakers, Joshua Henning and Zachary Henning, Henning Cheese cheeses have won countless awards over the years. Their plant is Level 3 SQF certified and USDA approved. Cheese is available to purchase in retail cuts, 40 lb. blocks and wheels that range from 12-pound midgets to 4000-pound mammoths. Henning Cheese is the only plant that makes mammoth wheels of cheese for store promotions and events.
